As a film student and budding filmmaker, you have seen your fair share of artsy foreign films (The Bicycle Thief, anyone?). Guess what? Your favorite movie is still the classic kids’ movie and you refuse to apologize for it.
Go you! Show your affection for the film that made you LOVE filmmaking when you dress as your favorite character for your department’s movie-themed Halloween party. You can pair up with a pal dressed as Dorothy, or grab a gaggle of friends and recreate the entire Lollipop Guild.
While the rest of your cohort will be busy taking itself super seriously and dressing up like Fellini and Hitchcock, you’ll be the life of the party and still on theme. You can even rock this Adult Red Munchkin Costume the following night for a bash that has nothing to do with the big screen—everyone will still adore your excellent depiction of a classic character. Find a witch at the party and recreate the famous melting scene, then spend the rest of the night partying like it’s your job!
This costume would look GREAT in Technicolor, with its red plaid shirt, bright red shorts, and red and white knee socks. Just be sure to pick up a wig and a pair of munchkin booties…unless you’re hoping you can go barefoot and Dorothy will lend you her ruby slippers. Either way, you’re bound to be a hit at both of your big bashes.
